Make a PowerPoint 2007 Object 3-D

PowerPoint lets you give objects on your slides a third dimension. PowerPoint objects in 3-D look bigger and more solid. PowerPoint offers all kinds of commands for giving objects a third dimension. However, creating objects in the third dimension is one of those instances when it really pays to let PowerPoint do the work. The commands for doing it yourself are quite complex You can get as good or better results by relying on a ready-made 3-D option.

Use these techniques to give objects a ready-made third dimension:




  • Pictures and clip-art images: On the (Picture Tools) Format tab, click the Picture Effects button, select 3-D Rotation on the drop-down list, and select a 3-D option; or else open the Picture Styles gallery and select a 3-D style.

  • Shapes, lines, and text boxes: On the (Drawing Tools) Format tab, open the Shape Styles gallery and select a 3-D style, or click the Shape Effects button and choose a 3-D Rotation option.
