If you suspect that your dog has suffered a spinal or neck injury, be very cautious about moving him or you can further damage the spinal cord and cause permanent paralysis or even death.
Muzzle your dog and slide him gradually onto a flat surface such as a board or a piece of heavy cardboard. Secure the dog to the makeshift stretcher with wide strips of tape or an elastic bandage and transport him to the veterinarian or emergency clinic immediately.
