The Essentials of Communicating with Skype
Besides standard one-on-one IM (instant message) conversations, you can start IM conversations with groups of Skype contacts and you can log off and return to conversations later. You can also invite new contacts to join already in-progress conversations. Instant messaging with Skype is as versatile as it is fun.
Starting an IM conversation is easy. Pick someone you want to IM with (who is online), and follow these steps:
Select a Skype contact from your Contacts list.
To select several of your contacts, press and hold the Shift key and click their names.
Position your cursor in the text box at the bottom of the screen, enter your text, and press Enter to post the message to the recipients.
To invite others to join your in-progress IM, simply drag and drop a contact from your main window into your text box message window.
To return to a previous conversation, you simply click on the Conversation tab and choose the conversation that you would like to continue. The message window will appear at the bottom of the screen where you can type in your message to continue the conversation.
