Don’t worry too much about decisions you make in the initial setup of your brand-spanking-new BlackBerry PlayBook. With the exception of downloading the most current OS and agreeing to the user agreement, everything else can be adjusted as you proceed to use the tablet and as your work habits change.
To adjust settings on the PlayBook, you need to display the status bar and then tap the gear symbol in the upper-right corner.
If you’re not already at your home screen, you can quickly get to the status bar, which contains the gear icon, by swiping diagonally from the upper-left side of the bezel onto the screen or a similar swipe from the upper-right side of the bezel onto the screen.
When you tap the gear, you’ll see a display of more than a dozen controls and reports generated by the tablet. This is an area where Research in Motion is likely to add features. The original version of the BlackBerry PlayBook had 14 choices here; the cellular versions of the tablet are likely to add one or more sets of controls or reports.
