Troubleshooting of Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) routing protocol can be eased by using the most relevant options with the show command. By using these information sources you can gather the essential information to resolving your network problems.
The show ip protocols command, will show you the OSPF process number and basic information about the OSPF protocol. The following list identifies the key pieces of information that you will see with the show ip protocols command:
Filters you configured for the protocol
The Router ID (note that in this case the Router ID is still set to the Fast Ethernet interface)
Areas that the router routes
Number of equal paths for which OSPF will load balance
Local networks that OSPF has configured with areas
Neighbors with their last update and administrative distance
The following output shows the particular settings for the OSPF protocol:
Router2>enable
Password:
Router2#show ip protocols
Routing Protocol is "ospf 100"
Outgoing update filter list for all interfaces is not set
Incoming update filter list for all interfaces is not set
