Dairy-Free Green Goodness Ranch Dressing

Who says Ranch dressing has to be white? This dressing is also known as Green Goddess, which was a popular store bought dressing in the early 1970s before Ranch dressing came onto the salad scene. The original contained sour cream and was known for its green color. This recipe replaces sour cream with a nondairy alternative. Try this dressing as a veggie dip too.

Preparation time: 5 minutes

Chilling time: At least 2 hours

Yield: 10 servings (1-1/4 cups)

1/2 cup plain nondairy sour cream

1/2 cup soy or regular mayonnaise

3 tablespoons tahini

1 tablespoon honey

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

1 green onion, chopped

1/4 teaspoon white pepper

2 cloves of garlic, minced

1 teaspoon dried chives, or a few fresh leaves, chopped

1 teaspoon dried tarragon, or a couple of sprigs, chopped

  1. Place all the ingredients in a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth, about 2 minutes.

  2. Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
