Navigate in Word and in Windows with NaturallySpeaking

The objects that you can talk to Natural Language Commands about are the character, word, line, sentence, paragraph, section, page, column, row, cell, table, and document. (You can also talk about the whole or entire document, or “all.”) You can move any number of these objects up, down, left, right, ahead, back, backward, or forward.

You can move some number of the next, last, forward, following, back, or previous objects. You can move them a distance, measured in some number of objects. “Huh?” you say. Okay, for instance, you can Move the Next Three Words up Two Paragraphs. Or you can move an object to a destination: the top or bottom, start or beginning, or end of another object.

Natural Language Commands don't give you any special commands for document windows in Word. If you want to do anything in the Word Window menu, you have to do it manually or with the Click Window command. You can, however, make use of the key combination Ctrl+F6 to switch document windows (say, “Press control F6”). Ctrl+F4 closes a document window (say, “Press control F4”).

This isn’t to say you can’t switch between the Word window and other program windows. As in any application, you can say, “Switch to <program name>” (if that program is running) or “Switch to previous/next window.”

You can always say, “List all windows for <program>” to get to the document window you are looking for.
