For Seniors: How to Identify and Move to Cells in Microsoft Excel

In Microsoft Excel, the cell cursor (also called the active cell indicator) is the dark outline around the active cell. To change which cell is active, you can do either of the following:



  • With your mouse: Click the cell you want to be active.



  • From the keyboard: Press one of the arrow keys on the keyboard to move the cell cursor one cell at a time in the direction the arrow is pointing until you reach the cell you want to be active.
